The YWCA of Hamilton's Co-Presidents are Lucy-Gillian Baker* and Hilary Max*+
Vice President is Joanne Kelly++
Former President Rachel Bowley* remains a member of the YWCA of Hamilton Board, in addition to her new March 2012 position on the Board of the YWCA of Aotearoa-New Zealand.
The YWCA of Hamilton Board comprises:
Members: Gaye Barton, Syrina Pene, Erin Litchfield, Hannah Divehall,* and Jessica Danby*+
* Indicates young women aged 30 and under.
+ Indicates current year's Tertiary Education Scholarship holders.
++ 2012 Maori Women's Community Award holder.
The Board meets monthly and we hold an Annual General Meeting in October of each year.
New Board members are welcome.
OUR PURPOSE
The YWCA of Hamilton works for individual and community change by empowering women, especially young women, to develop and exercise their individual and collective leadership through enhancing their spiritual, physical, mental and cultural well-being. We are committed to addressing all forms of oppression, so that women may together attain social and economic justice.
We are committed to empowering young women within the wider community of women to make positive choices in order to affect social change.
